Freedom Reigns: A WWII Orphans Quest For a heart-wrenching memoir, biography and autobiography, you must read Freedom Reigns. There is much more information and ordering on the FREEDOM REIGNS page. The story is about a WWII Orphan and all the trials and tribulations that go with being an orphan of war. It tells of a 50 plus year search for information about her father and the desperation that led her to the crash site in the Alps of France. On that day I let go and finally started living my own life. There is information about war, WWII, the Army Air Corp, The French Resistance, the people in a small town nestled amongst the mountains in France, and the people in my life. There is a lot of adventure, love, and twists and turns that keep you wondering what's next. You can also buy the book online at www.amazon.com, www.barnes&noble.com, www.target.com and straight from the publisher....www.BookSurge.com. "The greatest moments in life are not concerned with self achievements but rather with the things we do for other people." Walt Disney When you volunteer you give of yourself but you get so many rewards you never counted on. The feeling of doing for others alone fills you with joy and to see the looks on the face of those you help is a sight you will never forget. Through your life I'm sure there has been someone who made a deep impression on you just by putting their hand out to you. You can make an impression on someone too. Give back. And while you're at it, don't forget to vote...you give back every time you vote. And if you aren't happy with the way things are in your community, town, state, or the way the federal government is running things....voice your opinion. Contact them and tell them what you think. That is also giving back. You are helping to look out for all those who need you. Everyone has heard over and over again how you should "live for today because you never know if there is a tomorrow". Few people stop long enough to really hear those words. Did you live your life today the way you want to be remembered? Did you tell those you love just how important they are to you? Or are you holding grudges over them? Grudges don't solve anything. All they do is separate us from one another. How do you think wars start? It is people not wanting to bend enough to talk things out and make things right again. How easy it is for us to hold something over someone's head when in the majority of cases, they made errors.....human errors. We all make mistakes even though we may be trying our very best never to make any. Are you big enough to forgive? Forgiveness truly sets you free. Forgiveness is powerful. Have you ever thought how much common sense drives the things we do, the way we see things, and most definitely the way we do things. Some people have no common sense and life is so much harder for them. In fact, they miss out on a lot. Especially in a crisis, common sense can make all the difference in the outcome. All across the U.S. we see one disaster after another tearing out cities apart and the lives of the people who live there. Those who not only survive, but prosper, are the ones who work together to build a better tomorrow. Communities pick themselves up, unite, and create a bond while rebuilding. They all come out of the tragedy stronger and more fulfilled. They have also created bonds of friendship that will last a lifetime. Everyone knows something that can help others. Maybe it is your love for others. Or maybe it is what you have learned on the job over the years that you can teach others. Maybe you have secretly been writing poetry or a book. You can teach classes at adult programs giving others a way to give back too. There are many artists who take their God given ability a step further by teaching classes to the elderly giving them not just something to do, but something they can enjoy and share. You can teach children in after school classes or even neighborhood centers. You would be passing on what you know to others who would eventually pass it on to others. You would be "giving back" to generations you haven't even met. Wouldn't it be fantastic if those who have the ability to help would each put their hand out to one person who needs a helping hand. We could all be a part of getting them back on their feet and becoming self-sufficient again. I hear people voicing their opinion all the time about "all the poor living off the taxes they pay" First, they forget that when those people had jobs, they paid in too. And if they don't like people being poor and needing help, why don't they put their hand out and help them. Give them a job, rent to them cheaper for 3 months to give them a chance to get on their feet, give them items around your house you don't use and will probably end up throwing in the trash some day. Maybe they could work off part of their rent by repairing things around your house. You can make a difference in a thousand ways if you just do it. That doesn't mean thinking about it....it means doing it. On these pages, I have created an easier way for people to get help from various organizations. I've also created ways to change your life for the better. Take the time to surf these pages and come back often. Have a wonderful "first day of the rest of your life and the opportunity to change". Guide2kc is your website. It is a place for you to find contact names and numbers for anything you may need. With the economy in such a mess, it has affected everyone. Many have lost their jobs and homes or in real trouble with their homes going into bankruptcy. When someone loses a job everything in their lives start to spiral downward. Depression sets in, they are worried about their wife and children, and they just don't know where to turn. They probably had health care from their place of employment and now have none. They have a sick child and no longer can afford the doctor or hospital bills. They need someone to give them a helping hand. Tell them about this website. It offers answers to many complex problems. Hey, if you happen to be going to the park, why not invite a neighbor who never gets out or doesn't have transportation. And you can bet they would love to have someone to sit and talk to. You could make a huge difference in their day. Maybe you could pack a picnic lunch or stop on the way home for ice cream. Nature has a way of helping people see what is important in life and gives strength to those who take the time to enjoy it. Why not enjoy it with someone you know little about and learn from them. Everyone knows something that can be useful to another. I've noticed how many people take the time and effort to decorate their porches and patios but never use them. Your porch or patio is an extension of your home. You can go out there and read, paint, write, or just sit and enjoy the quiet as you look around at the wonder of nature surrounding you. Hear the birds, watch them, and soon you may find yourself trying to whistle. Take time out to enjoy all the wonders of life surrounding you. And remember nothing in life is permanent. You can change your life starting right now.
